Robert Thibier (1926–2001), interior designer and publisher. Special commission, circa 1980. Chest of drawers with four drawers, made of mahogany veneered with stainless steel sheets and gilded metal strips forming the decoration and drawer pulls, with a framed decorative motif on the side panels, the top surface topped with a glass panel revealing a checkerboard pattern of gold- and chrome-treated stainless steel sheets, resting on a baseboard. Dimensions: 91 x 111 x 40.5 cm. Chest of drawers designed and crafted in 1981 for a Parisian apartment in the 14th arrondissement, a former artist’s studio converted into a duplex.
