Italian School, second half of the 19th century Pyramid of Caius Cestius in Rome. Oval micro-mosaic depicting the pyramid in a landscape. Set in an onyx border, resting on a base composed of oval and rectangular slabs of black hardstone and griotte marble. Dimensions of the micro-mosaic: 2.2 x 2.8 cm. Overall dimensions: 9 x 11.5 cm. (Damage to the onyx; small chips on the base).
