Italian School, first half of the 19th century St. Peter’s Square in Rome. Oval micro-mosaic depicting St. Peter’s Square bustling with visitors, the fountains flowing, and the obelisk at the center. Without the streetlights. Set in a black Belgian marble frame with a scalloped, undulating edge. Dimensions of the micro-mosaic: 5.8 x 7.8 cm. Overall dimensions: 10.5 x 15 cm. (Chips along the edge).
