LEO'N'ART - Lot 32
LEO'N'ART Part of a TABLE SERVICE in bubble glass, partially wine-colored, including six water glasses, a carafe, two pourers, a refreshment bucket, six aperitif dishes and a large dish. Two other bowls in a different color are included. Note: Léonard Fine discovered glassmaking at the age of fourteen, and immediately turned to professional training in this age-old art. After obtaining his glassblower's CAP, he moved to Biot, the Mecca of art glassmaking, where for four years he perfected his mastery of fused glass at 1200°. His first exhibitions, notably in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, enabled him to make a name for himself alongside established artists such as Georgina Fine (FaIence et Bronze) and Marie Odile Savigny (Grès et pâte de verre). In 2006, he set up his own workshop in his native village of Mons-en-Provence, turning his passion into an independent business. Here, he creates one-of-a-kind pieces, fashioned using exacting craftsmanship and a perfect mastery of coloring oxides. Some pieces are enhanced by inclusions of gold or silver leaf, the signature of refined, high-end craftsmanship. Her style oscillates between rigorously architectural forms and more whimsical creations, revealing a great deal of artistic freedom. The LÉO'N'ART glassworks is fast becoming a reference point for contemporary blown glass enthusiasts. His approach combines tradition, innovation and technical excellence, and he continues to produce entirely by hand, renowned for his originality and the quality of his workmanship.
