Antique Kazak rug, Caucasus, early 20th century. Wool velvet on wool foundations. Abraded garnet field (natural wool change) decorated with an original navy blue central medallion patterned with a succession of reserves and compartments formed by combs and inlaid with crabs, tarantulas, hooks, small pyramids (symbols of immortality) formed by colored stones and stylized diamonds. Triple borders, the main one in Prussian blue with interlacing turtle shells in the form of polychrome stylized masks. 280 x130 cm. Good condition.
