Important Ghoum RUG, silk, Iran, Shah period circa 1960. Silk velvet on silk foundation. Density of approx. 9,000 to 10,000 knots per dm2. Ivory field decorated with a thousand flowers, featuring a central floral rosette with polychrome flower sprays in the form of a stylized diamond and framed by fine scrolls of crenellated stems. Four spandrels with floral bulbs in a motif reminiscent of the central rosette. Seven borders, the main one in midnight blue with seeded floral bulbs and burst diamond-shaped flower buds. 400 x 300 cm. Good condition.
