Old and fine Ferahan RUG, Iran, 1st half of the 20th century Wool velvet on cotton foundation. Brick field decorated with a large central hexagonal ivory medallion framed by two palmettes. Four midnight-blue spandrels with geometrically stylized tobacco and ruby censers and oil lamps. Original beige border with rows of stylized birds or frogs surrounded by stylized spearheads and hunters' arrows. Size: 95 x 134 cm (Carpet having been cleaned, some restorations, beautiful polychromy)
