EXCEPTIONAL, RARE, IMPORTANT AND FINE RUG, Silk Kachan, Persia, late 19th/early 20th century. Velvet, warp, weft and bangs in silk (100% silk). Beautifully fresh colors, exceptional polychromy. Density of approx. 8,000 to 9,000 knots per dm2. Golden-yellow field decorated with scrolls and garlands of stylized flowers and foliage in pastel hues, framing a large, multi-lobed floral rosette in ruby and old gold, richly flowered and finely drawn. Four sky-blue spandrels with floral bulbs. Seven borders, the main one in ruby, decorated with rows of a thousand flowers in the form of stylized burst diamonds. Dimensions: 305 x 210 cm.
