Exceptional and important Kouba, Caucasus, late 19th century. Wool velvet on wool foundations. Ruby-red field decorated with rows of symmetrical stylized combs framing a central tree with polychrome crab claws, hooks, tarantulas and floral bulbs. Main border in ivory with multicolored stylized birds in the form of hooks. Dimensions: 262 x 135 cm. (Good condition, beautiful polychromy). Bibliography: Ulrich Schurman.
