Original et grand tapis de Samarcande. Original and large RUG from Samarkand (border between China and Russia, on the Silk Road). Wool velvet on cotton foundation. Pinkish-beige field with geometric floral design. Four borders, the main beige one with interlacing geometrically stylized palmettes surrounded by crenellated branches. Décor reminiscent of Caucasian carpets. Circa 1965. (Good general condition)
