Exceptional, fine and rare Kachan Mortachem RUG, Persia. Workshop of the famous Master MORTACHEMI. Silky lambswool "kork" velvet on cotton foundation. Midnight-blue field decorated with polychrome flowering palmettes framing a large central brick and ivory medallion in the shape of a stylized diamond. Late 19th century. Size: 200 x 134 cm.
