This copy of "The Beatles & Frank Ifield On Stage", in its mono version, is one of the rarest and most sought-after Vee-Jay albums among Beatles collectors. Known as the "Portrait Cover", this pressing was created in response to the poor sales of the first version of the album entitled "Jolly What!". The emphasis was on Beatles songs, and the cover was reimagined to attract fans with a striking portrait of the Beatles, reused from the cover of the "Love Me Do" 45.
Rarity and historical significance:
Although the mono version is somewhat more widespread than its stereo counterpart, it remains extremely difficult to find in good condition and commands high prices on the collectors' market. The album was only produced in very small quantities, and only a few thousand copies were sold, making it a rare treasure in the Beatles' American discography. The cover, with its vibrant colors and clean design, has become emblematic for fans and collectors worldwide.
