Mir-Sarabend rug, Iran. Wool velvet on cotton backing. A jagged brick field, sown with small bluish botehs, hosts a diamond-shaped medallion with ivory vegetation. Four similar ivory spandrels complete the ensemble. Ivory border with stylized undulating garland. Counter borders with two-tone chess pieces in positive-negative. Nice set. 20th century.
