Important antique Tabriz rug, Northwest Iran. Wool velvet on cotton backing. Beige field decorated with ruby flower stems and twisted crenellated foliage terminating in flowering sprigs, framing a central oval medallion in midnight blue, old rose, parma and lilac in the shape of an elongated diamond. Four ruby spandrels with floral bulbs. Triple border, the main one bluish-gray with interlacing palmettes and fine crenellated branches. Beautiful graphic design. Circa 1940. Size : 330 x 238 cm. (Good condition)
