Ouchak rug, Asia Minor Mid-twentieth century. Wool velvet on cotton backing. A brick field hosts a stylized old-gold plant trellis, typical of "Lotto" rugs. It is framed by a wide navy border adorned with undulating purple scrolls, supporting a succession of starry flowers and multicolored floral compositions, laid on "tchis". Two small counter-borders, navy and old gold with brick "double S" motifs, complete the set. A very convincing, homogeneous ensemble. Dimensions: 170 x 121 cm Minor wear. SOLD BY DESIGNATION
