Important Savonnerie point rug Mid 20th century. (CNA : compagnie nationale des artistes français aux Indes). Wool velvet on cotton backing. Black field decorated with scrolls of crenellated foliage in golden-yellow twists, framing a central round medallion with pastel-toned floral wreaths, inlaid with a polychrome floral bouquet. A beautifully balanced frame decorated with a succession of bulbous reserves and garlands of multicolored flowers. Dimensions: 365 x 255 cm Good condition.
