BOUCHERON, Bague en platine et diamants - Lot 117
BOUCHERON, Bague en platine et diamants BOUCHERON Platinum ring (850‰) set with a stunning emerald-cut D/IF type IIa diamond, shouldered by two tapered diamonds. Signed BOUCHERON. Diamond weight : 5.13 cts Gross weight : 4.30 g. Finger size : 51 Accompanied by a GIA certificate dated October 2022 specifying its D color, its IF clarity, its type IIa and the absence of fluorescence. Diamonds have been known since ancient times and have long held the top rank among gemstones for their brilliance and exceptional physical properties, especially hardness. Among all diamonds, this one is of remarkable quality. First, its color: "D" is the most sought-after color in the international grading scale. There is no more colorless diamond. No colored nuance disturbs the whiteness of this stone. By its purity: perfectly pure under the magnifying glass "IF" means that the stone is totally free of inclusions visible under 10X magnification. By its type: only 1% to 2% of the world's diamond production is of type IIa. These diamonds are considered chemically pure, they contain neither boron nor nitrogen, unlike other diamonds. This gives them a very special transparency. Historically, diamonds of this type were extracted from the famous Golconde mines in India, mines that are now exhausted. Among the famous type IIa diamonds are the Cullinan, the Koh-I-Noor, the Regent and, more recently, the Elizabeth Taylor diamond.
