ENSEMBLE D'AUTOGRAPHES du Jimi Hendrix Experience - 14 octobre 1966
Six Autographs collected at the Jimi Hendrix Experience, October 14, 1966: -Jimi Hendrix -Noel Redding -Mitch Mitchell -Chas Chandler -Long Chris -Micky Jones Two later autographs collected during the Taratata show in 2011: -Johnny Hallyday -M Probably the first set of autographs from the Jimi Hendrix Experience, October 14, 1966. At the beginning it's a classic story: two young girls, Jocelyne D. and her sister, go to Johnny Hallyday's concert at the cinema Le Rio in Nancy on October 14th 1966. Jocelyne has under her arms a 45 rpm of her idol: "Je l'Aime". Decided to get a dedication at the end of the concert, the sisters go to Place Stanislas in a café where the musicians are gathered. There they found Long Chris and Micky Jones, but surprise, there was also one of the opening acts of the tour: The Jimi Hendrix Experience and their manager Chas Chandler. It is the second concert in the world of the group after Evreux the day before. Unfortunately, there is no Johnny around. Jocelyne D., determined, gets the signatures of all the musicians present on the back of her record. Years later, Jocelyne contacted the Jimi Hendrix specialist, Yazid Manou, to get an opinion on this object. The conclusion is without appeal: to this day, it is the first time that we are given to see this avalanche of autographs on the same record: Jimi Hendrix, Noel Redding, Mitch Mitchell, Chas Chandler, Long Chris and Micky Jones. At the top of the record Jocelyne wrote her name and Jimi Hendrix simply did the same. Jimi preceded his name with a small heart and wrote Love, while Noel added Bass. The other four, certainly more seasoned, made a nice autograph. This beautiful story ended 45 years later, when Jocelyne finally had, through Yazid Manou, the opportunity to meet her idol on the set of the special Taratata show "Jimi Hendrix" (No. 383) in 2011. Johnny signs then next to Jimi Hendrix and then offers Matthieu Chedid to do the same. A great moment of emotion for Jocelyne, but also Johnny Hallyday. We thank Yazid Manou for his participation and his analysis around this beautiful piece of music history. Probably the first autograph by the Jimi Hendrix Experience - October 14th 1966 It starts off as a classic story: two young women, Jocelyne D. and her sister attended Johnny Hallyday's concert at the Rio cinema in Nantes on October 14th 1966. Jocelyne took her idol's 7' single "Je l'aime" with her. Bent on getting it signed after the concert, the sisters headed towards a café place Stanislas where the musicians had met up. There, they found Long Chris and Micky Jones, but to their surprise one of the tour's warm-up bands were there: The Jimi Hendrix Experience with their manager Chris Chandler. It was the band's second concert ever, after performing in Evreux the night before. Unfortunately, Johnny wasn't in sight. A determined Jocelyne D. still managed to get her record sleeve signed by all the musicians present. Years later, Jocelyne contacted Jimi Hendrix expert Yazid Manou to get his opinion. His assessment was final: to this day it is the first time seeing this avalanche of autographs on a single record: Jimi Hendrix, Noel Redding, Mitch Mitchell, Chas Chandler, Long Chris and Micky Jones. Jocelyne wrote her name at the top of the cover and Jimi Hendrix simply did the same. Jimi drew a little heart in front of his name and wrote Love, with Noel adding Bass. The four others, probably more used to the drill, signed eloquently. This lovely story ended 45 years later when Jocelyne finally met her idol on the set of TV show Taratata in 2011, thanks to Yazid Manou. Johnny signed next to Jimi Hendrix before offering that Matthieu Chedid do the same. A great emotional moment for Jocelyne but also for Johnny Hallyday. We wish to thank Yazid Manou for his participation and his analysis of this beautiful piece of music history.
